Dhaltangarh Eco Tourism Centre – Gopalpur
Dhaltangarh Eco Tourism Centre is a nature-based recreational destination located within the Dhaltangarh Reserve Forest area of Jagatsinghpur district. The reserve forest lies in Raghunathpur block and provides visitors with a distinctly different environment from the urban parks of Jagatsinghpur and Paradeep.
The area is characterized by dense vegetation, with bamboo forming an important part of the forest landscape. The Hansua River flows beside the reserve forest, adding to the natural scenery and supporting the area’s ecosystem.
Dhaltangarh is particularly notable for its biodiversity. A published study documented 105 bird species belonging to 44 families in the reserve forest, along with a variety of plants and other wildlife. A deer park was also developed within the forest as part of its eco-tourism activities.
The combination of forest vegetation, wildlife, birdlife and the nearby Hansua River makes Dhaltangarh suitable for nature-oriented outings and environmental tourism. The eco-tourism centre also supports awareness about the biodiversity and conservation importance of the reserve forest.
