Biju Janata Dal leaders strongly condemned the vandalism of a statue of former Odisha Chief Minister Biju Patnaik at Siali Beach in the Ersama area of Jagatsinghpur district. The incident generated anger among party workers and local residents because of Biju Patnaik’s prominent place in Odisha’s political history.

Following the incident, a BJD delegation visited Siali Beach to inspect the location. Party leaders criticised the destruction of the statue and demanded that police quickly identify the people responsible. The incident subsequently developed into a significant local political issue in Jagatsinghpur.

The BJD delegation also approached the Jagatsinghpur Superintendent of Police, seeking action against those involved. Party representatives called for restoration of the statue and improved security so that similar incidents involving public monuments could be prevented.

The controversy has attracted political and public attention across the district, particularly in the Ersama area. Police investigation into the vandalism and demands for accountability have kept the incident in focus, while BJD leaders continue to seek strict action against the perpetrators.
