Jagatsinghpur delivered an impressive performance at the 14th Odisha State Junior (U-18) Kho-Kho Championship, held at Talabania Indoor Stadium in Puri from August 1 to 4. Both the Jagatsinghpur boys’ and girls’ teams advanced to their respective finals, making the district one of the strongest performers in the four-day state-level competition.

In the boys’ final, Jagatsinghpur faced State Sports Hostel, Puri. The Puri side secured the championship with a 39–29 victory, leaving Jagatsinghpur as runners-up. In the girls’ final, Jagatsinghpur competed against KISS University, Bhubaneswar, which won the title with a 39–19 score.

Jagatsinghpur players also received individual recognition. Subham Sahu was named Best Attacker in the boys’ competition, while Subasini Nath received the Best Defender award in the girls’ category. Their achievements added to the district’s strong overall showing at the championship.

The tournament featured 564 players, including 228 girls, representing 23 boys’ teams and 19 girls’ teams.
